Did any of them give a clue as to why? Assuming it wasn't a liability issue, the only thing I can come up with is maybe their brake (or break) table couldn't handle the stress. Hmmm...the scorer may not have been able to handle the thickness either.
Just for clarification, this is the accepted names of the dimensions...
Length=end to end/left to right/usually the longest dimension
Width=front to back
Height=top to bottom/depth
for calculating gallons/volume it L x W x H
Now we all are on the same page, as far as dimensional nomenclature...
