Pretty Burm, but I don't think that is the proper substrate. Also, are these two snakes being housed together currently?
 
What's the hollering about the substrate? Looks like mulch to me...not a problem.

Looks like the wood chips in a bag....called like reptibark, or something.


I don't like the stuff b/c I think it is too dirty. I also heard that it can get under the snake's scales and hurt them. Lastly, I heard mites love that stuff, and it stays too damp.

I could be wrong about that though. I know I wouldn't use it though.

im in cali but have the handling exp. and room to house them. that bark is ok the burm as well as the retic are a high humidity snake. you just need to change the whole enclosure's bark pretty often because of mold.
 
yeah i do. change it like every two weeks. plus i have a misting system for humidity. some other guy asked about housing them together. They do not bother each other. plus i feed them separately. the retic like hiding under the burm or flipping the water bowl over and hiding under it.
