FREEZE FISH

wow i drive 20minutes to donate 3 five inch cichlids and petco tells me they can't take them and to freeze them if i don't want them!!!

Why did you think they would just take your fish? The big chain pet stores stopped doing that a long time ago. You are better off putting them in your local fish club auction. I don't know where in PA you are but is your close to Lancaster their is a club that meets at That pet Place. PM MSJinkzed she is a member of teh Aquarium club of lancaster.

Petco takes other unwanted pets like lizards etc. I went to a Petco to buy a leopard geco once and they actually gave me a free 'adoption' lizard that was given to them by an other customer. I even got a free tank along with the deal.

Petco's standing policy is that they no longer take animals that need to be 'rescued' from owners who can't care for them. They were doing that back when I was in college - and that was a long time ago.
