It's all good. I have heard this family of pikes are very hard to ID. Either way it's a great fish.
 
from what i see i also disagree with the frenata ID. of course i'm not the best at ID'ing and those shots, though beautiful!, aren't the best shots to get a positive ID from.

Does Jeff Rapps have that experience in Crenicichla? No.
 
wow, seriously, who cares, Sax are really hard to ID and there is no telling whether the picture you show from Vinny is a stressed specimen or not and that could be why the lateral line is showing. Anyway, that is an amazing pike, very beautiful, keep us posted with updates as it closes in on max size.
