Here is a chart that shows the difference between daily 5% changes and weekly 40% changes on my heavily stocked 75G. The daily 5% changes will allow the nitrate level to hit 100PPMs while the 40% weekly has a wider nitrate swing but they max out at 86PPMs.
I change approx 150 litres(RO water) a day, it is trickled in over the 24 hour period 7 days a week, So no big water changes. Easy for me and good for the fishes .

Where did you get these charts, good information. Looks to me that if he increased to 10% daily changes it would blow away the 40% weekly numbers, possibly even 50% weekly change.
I was guilty of this when i first started out... it may seem like your fish is healthy but they are probably not.

interesting chart. I only have one 5" FH in a 75, and everytime i do my daily wc, its w/ a gravel vac so the chart isn't as accurate in my case i would assume.
but again, just testing this out, i may get lazy and start back to 40% weekly changes
...My fishes are health with 40 percent water changes per month. It could be different results for different setups and filters. Of course less water change more often is better. I can only validate this with what i have experienced.
