from the look of this putting one of these guys in my freshwater tank isnt going to work right?

It will for a while but eventually it will get sick & die just like a "freshwater moray" which is also not a freshwater fish.

They can go anywhere from fresh to full salt but mid brackish would be the safe bet. There isn't a lot of info out there on these guys and what is out there is mostly conflicting so it's some what experimental as we go. Most people you talk to will have only had them a short time (if they still have it) or only "had" them for a short time and they have died. What is clear though is, they don't fare well in fresh for long.

I had one for about 3 weeks.I tried feeding it everything.By hand with tongs.Nothing worked for me at the least.I think they would do so much better in brackish water.Needless to say he didn't make it.But he was a beautiful fish though.

Hi everyone, im new here, well i became member a long time ago but i never used the site before now (stupid i know)

anyhow, i was thinking bout starting a new thread bout this fish because i have some questions, but why not put some life in this one instead

My lokal fishstore has a batrachomoeus trispinosus, its about 20centimeters and really awsome. This fish has always lived in freshwater so thats not a prob, if it has survived in FW for over 1year and gotten this big then it has 2 mean that it aint a prob with FW i guess !?

So i these are my questions:

If my other fishes get in 2 a fight with it, can its poison kill them?
does this fish attak other fish, even bigger than it self?
does it even attak if feed properly so its not hungry?
does it make a mess in the tank, digging in the sand, movin stuff around, destroing plants n so on? Needs hidingplaces?

As u see, i dont know anything bout this fish. So help me plz

Btw, my eng is good but not perfekt so plz dont use 2 complicaded words lol

the grunting toadfish is a brackish water species it makes more noises than other toadfishes
