What else is out there for options. I already have a decent size fire eel (~15") and I'm looking to get another eel the only real option I've found so far is a tire track Any other suggestions?

Theres a few from lake Tanganyika that are available sometimes. I'm not sure how the size compares to fire or tire track eels though.

Not too worried about size really. As long as it's not under 4" or so nothing else in the tank should bother it at all. Not much for predators in it.

Just looking for other freshwater eel options. Not brackish because I don't want to change the tank water and it wouldn't be fair to the brackish eel

How about an Australian short finned eel? (Anguilla australis). Ive kept them with cichlids before but not sure how it would go with the fire eel.

as long as you don't buy freshwater moray I had to give mine away and he tried to kill everything

Really? What did he go after? The freshwater moray is what frank suggested and it looked like a great idea. I'm very curious what he was housed with that he tried to kill. The smallest stuff in my tank currently are about 7-8" balas
