Freshwater Panther Grouper

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thats the same as a barramundi cod isnt it?

yes Panther Grouper/Barramundi Cod are interchangable... most often known as the panther grouper in stores, atleast around here ... Thats so crazy how with a little adaptation we can have saltwater fish in freshwater amazing how nature works sometimes...

Just like the bumble bee grouper, many juvenile saltwater fish can be slowly acclimated to freshwater and vise versa. However, when they get bigger and to adult, I don't think they will last in the freshwater and will probably need to be in full saltwater. That's why I am not going to plump down $500.00 for a bumble bee grouper.

I would assume it would have to be heavy Brackish at best as opposed to going from 100% salt to 100% fresh.

Since there is no information on this "switch" I would be cautious until you have all of the information...

Sheesh, why is it that Australians call just about every fish a barramundi? Lates calcarifer, both Australian arowana species, and now panther groupers too? :P
