Seems like all Australian fish are called barramundi, cod, or gudgeon. In Bill Bryson's book "In a Sunburned Country," he pokes fun at Australian place names, paying particular attention to a town called Tittybong!

yes Panther Grouper/Barramundi Cod are interchangable... most often known as the panther grouper in stores, atleast around here ... Thats so crazy how with a little adaptation we can have saltwater fish in freshwater amazing how nature works sometimes...

how do I get a freshwater panther grouper? Just acclimate a salt water one?

I'm gonna get one and try to acclimatise in freshwater. I had my bumble bee grouper in freshwater for more than two months now and its growing fast and eating strong.
