sooo..
i was given a 29gal tank for helping some friends move. =D on sunday i went to the lfs to get some neat little fishies and saw some green spotted puffers. i asked the kid working if that was a brackish tank (bc my brother has puffers but they are brackish) and he said no. i said "so these are freshwater puffers?" he said yes. i said ill take 2. while he was bagging them up i asked what they eat he said "just flakes" but he put a little guppy in the bag and said he would eat it??

i got home and after i put my fish in their new home i took a picture on my phone and sent it to my brother. he called me a few minutes later and was asking about them he said so you have brackish tank i said no theyre freshwater puffers and just laughed at me. he said they will last about a week.

whats up with this what should i do????? whos right??

they wont die in a week but they need brackish and will need marine as adults.
i would feed worms and bloodworm to start as mine loves them but you need to feed snails aswell

your prob best off lookin at pufferpunks website i'm sure some one will post a link up for you

hey now, i like to think that most lfs employees SHOULD know what theyre talking about. especially something like that, i would think that would be a big deal. and i figured since they had them in a freshwater tank anyway then he was a freshwater puffer..
oh well i dont think its too difficult to make the change and maintain a brackish tank anyway soo i guess thats what ill do.

wow.. i guess my tank is just barely big enough anyway. maybe i should just take them back and tell that kid what he really needs to be telling customers about puffers..

^^ That is always a riot. You'll see a puzzled look followed by a desperate attempt to explain themselves.
