Hey i am looking for freshwater 'sharks'. can people list freshwater shark that you know of or better yet post pics of any that you may own and a pic of the tank it is in?

Freshwater ‘Sharks’ i have so far:

  • Paroon shark
  • Iridescent shark
  • Blue Torpedo shark
  • Bala shark
  • Rainbow shark
  • Redtail shark
  • Black shark
  • Chinese Hi Fin Banded shark
  • Albino Rainbow shark
  • Silver Apollo shark
anymore anyone?

Blue torpedo shark - AWESOME

Personally I think redtail sharks and ID sharks are the best. (IDs will need a big tank or a pond though.)

Ive got a Paroon and an Id in a 220. The Paroon is about 10in. and the Id about 7in. They get along well together, but will need an upgrade in housing when they outgrow the tank. They are commonly called sharks but are really just catfish. Sharklike in appearance, but that's really as far as it goes.

nice fish. i was thinking of getting an iridescent shark until i found out how big they got and how fast they got there.

the reason i am looking for freshwater 'sharks' is bc i have started a list of them and would like to know of any that i have not thought of. then i will do research on them and also see if they could possible fit into a more realistic idea than my other ideas.

Yo i've had that Id for about 7 months and it's maybe grown about a half inch. Sometimes I think it's shrinking. The Paroon is a different story altogether, don't buy one, way to big and crazy.

how fast does the paroon grown and how big does it get?

9ft. long, and at this rate about an inch a month or so. I figure I have about 14 more months before I move it. It eats everything.
