nice fish. i was thinking of getting an iridescent shark until i found out how big they got and how fast they got there.

the reason i am looking for freshwater 'sharks' is bc i have started a list of them and would like to know of any that i have not thought of. then i will do research on them and also see if they could possible fit into a more realistic idea than my other ideas.

If your interested in fish that swim like sharks or resemble them slightly, have a look at balas, and tinfoil barbs. They don't really look like sharks but have some swimming movements which remind me of sharks.

Maybe you can put a couple of full grown red tails in ya 30 gal with your common pleco.....................WTF???

WTF man? im not stupid. when i got the pleco i did know that it eventually would get too big for my tank but i did not know that it would grow as fast as it did. all the other common plecos that ive seen that survive for a long period of time in this area are maybe 5 inches and they are all about 2 years old. i thought mine would grow slower than it did. i dont even know how big he can grow to.

bala sharks look more like sharks than the other "freshwater sharks"

tinfoil barbs do resemble sharks in some ways. i used to have 2 tinfoil barbs but they got to big and aggressive in my tank and i sharted suspecting them of eating my fish bc i had a few fish mysteriously disappear. the tinfoils were the only two fish that i could see that was in my tank at the time that would kill and eat a swordtail. but if the swordtail died for some reason then my 7 sunfish, rainbow shark, yellow bullhead catfish, and barbs would have finished him off.
