Freshwater shark?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I thank you all

You guys have given me so much to think about. Thank you. Right now I am thinking I should probably go with a wolfish. Fugupuff, I know what you mean about the South American red bellied puppies. I have a tank setup with those, in New York we can have piranhas, they are illegal. Some of us New Yorkers have South American cichlids that looked exactly like them and act like them, but they are not them because they are illegal. We have red bellied puppies instead. Wink wink nudge nudge say no more. LOL

If you want to keep a shark... just go for a full on saltwater tank and get like a nurse shark... they stay pretty small and they are oppertunistic feeders.

If you went saltwater get a big enough tank and just get a great white.

I know you said you were looking for a shark ,,,,, but some one brought up Fahakas (I have one) they have the personality of a dog and are down right killers seems to be the best of both worlds..... but maybe I am biased :naughty:

just live near the sea then you will have you own reef in your back yard :D

Just go with a big salt water tank and go down to the Jersey shore, you could probably catch a nice shark n sneek it back to your tank lol

Bull sharks have been known to occur in FW, including, but not limited to, Lake Nicaragua in Central America, the Zambezi River in South Africa, and the Ganges River in India.

Absoslutely right. I believe there even are bull populations that no longer return to SW...

I've tried...Saltwater is harder. Well...at least for me anyways.

Beg to differ Benjzamin ( the names some of you have...). SW once stabilized ( say a running tank one year old ) is sigificantly easier and less probne to disaster than a fw one...
