well, looks my sponge colony has died. it got smaller and skinnier. it probably did not get enough food due to my massive filtration. they probably should be in aged tanks with low filtration. it's still in my tank. i am going to take it out soon

Fresh water sponges are quite common in the north American Great Lakes (there are at least 4 known species).
They would occasionally clog intakes in the drinking water plant where I worked, receiving its water from Lake Michican
