Ok this is what I did to stop that from happening. My wife has a friend that has a little boy and she doesn't control him. I have a bad habit of hanging in my room when said friend is over just cause the kid has total run of her and my wife feels bad yelling at another persons kid. Well one time this kid was over and messing with my 55 salt tank and the next thing I know it's ******. All fish dead you name it. Well the kid jacked with it and pulled the pump out of the sump and dumped salt and pepper into the water and lord knows what else went in. So I said something and just got an I'm sorry... Next time she came over with kid he was back at the 55 banging on the glass and slamming cabinet doors so I said something and she gave me a rude look. So this is what I did... I moved one of my birds into living room and let the kid have fun. Needless to say the kid took a bit and mom got ****** I told her that if she would control her kid then this wouldn't have happened. Well I haven't see mom or kid for 2 months and going and it's been great. Thats how I took care of the problem not the best way but the kid and mom had both been told that the bird bits so it's not my fault she wasn't watching her kid.

Sad to say it... but I agree with you 100% on what you did... Kids are sooooo out of control these days.. the kid deserved it... especially after hed been warned and ruined your stuff before... your wife can go visit her friend if she wants to see her.
That totally bites, I have a lil daughter and she is pretty good with my tanks (Only 21 mnths tomorrow). But she knows better then to be messing with things even at this age. My nephew on the other hand is alot like these kids everyone is talking about and I swear I would go ape **** all over him if he did ANYTHING to my babies!
It sucks when you have such expensive fish. Though I can see the kids logic, fish + worms = Not so hungry fish. But as the parent I would expect some sort of compinsation for the fish itself.
Anyone here that can get there hands on one for pretty cheap should make a deal for a fellow keeper. Maybe send him a "care package"

the one kid was 9!!!!! oh hell no, drop some bows on that snot. at 9 he should have the reasoning to think "hey fish dont eat candy". unless that kid is retarded he knew what he was doing. i was 9 not all that long ago and i sure as hell would have had the brains to not do so and even stop a sibling from doind so. this whole thing sux bro, sorry
Exactly, that's been my point all along. I think a 5 year old should know better, let alone a 9 year old. A 9 year old that does that is either retarded or nasty.
