I know its an old thread but....

How big is that tanks all the babies are in on last pic for the secod page?
How'D YOU FIND THE PAIR?
That was a 40g tank with 750 baby oscars a bit over 1" long! :screwy:
daily 70% water change in that time as I remember. some days 2 times needed.

about the pair, near 3 years ago I didn't know anything about aquarium, had not even heard the name 'oscar' before!! one day my father brought a tank home with 2 baby oscars under 4" and some other fish. I started to learn fish keeping and taking care of them. those two turn out to be male and female and paired off some months later. its supposed to be good luck I believe. :)

If anyone is interested in a 4 year update!
These pics are not new but show him grown up.

I've seen some pretty cool threads on this site with some amazing tanks. Some people seem to get all high and mighty about tank size, but you have clearly demonstrated that tank size is not everything. You seem like someone who genuinely cares about your fish. I'm very impressed by the effort you put in, and the results are clearly there for everyone to see. Well done! Beautiful fish. You should be very proud.

Thank you. Yeah finally I managed to get a bigger tank a couple years ago. Still not what they deserve but much better than before. :)

Absolutely love this thread! I wish I could do that! You must be attached to him

Thanks, yeah during these years I got rid of all my other fish and tanks but this single one is like a part of me.

Thanks for your kind words. I tried my best. Many may consider this just as a hobby but I really feel responsible for these creatures. I wish I could provide them a happier life. Sometimes I feel good when I think about all the works I did and time I spent for getting them hatched and raised, but the good feeling fades away as soon as I remember that they are kept in captivity. :shakehead

Anyway, I feel very lucky for having this great opportunity to witness how amazingly nature works, even when its cramped by us.
