My heater went out on one of my tanks and it resulted in a few fish coming down with ich. Thought I caught the temp drop in time...but I guess not. The lady from the store where I bought the fish told me to put them all in the hospital tank. Parrot Cichlid, Pink Kisser, and Frontossa. Ran the temp up to 86 and added a little salt and some blue medicine that she gave me.

They have been in the tank since Wed. Last night the Parrot attacked the Frontosa. :WHOA: The Frontosa was probably about 4" and the Parrot maybe 2". The Frontosa isn't going to make it. I called the store and the lady told me that she has not ever had a Parrot become that agressive. The store is very reputable. You have to test your water before she will sell you a fish. A very nice operation.

Anyone else ever have a Parrot react that agressively?

A parrot? They don't even have real mouths! How did it do that?

yea my parrot had some little scrabbles with jackdempseys, but thats like a person trying to fight by only ramming there head into the guys chest aha

Mine is super aggressive, it attacks everything in its tank including me when I put my hand in. Mine was sold as a flower horn/parrot and acts like it but does not look like any fh/bp I've seen so I think it's just a really aggressive BP, mine actually took on 2 oscars a little bigger them him when they tryed to take over the tank and won but like ewurm said his mouth won't let him do any real damage, but given enough time I would not put it past him to kill another fish due to stress.

I don't know how it did it. It would ram itself into it. I just buried the Frontosa. Not very happy with the parrot.

Hmmm...it also nipped the fins off of the Pink Kisser...and now all the stupid thing wants to do is stand on its head in a corner.

Might be a bit of confusion here. I think we're all thinking of blood parrots which are the hybrids that cannot close their mouths fully.

No confusion, I was just being facetious. I just find it funny that when people say "parrot cichlid" they don't mean the real parrot cichlid. Sad reality of the aquarium hobby.
