Frontosa killed by Parrot Cichlid

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was referring to the blood parrot. Everything that I have read says you need to choose their companions carefully because of their inability to fight for food or territoy. I but I saw this guys knock the daylights out of the frontosa, the kisser, and when I shifted him to a different tank...he hit my Procambarus alleni and knocked him off his rock. This hybrid has a little attitude.

Thats funny, before i had the lunfish, I had a cichlid tank, and my blood parrot picked on everything, even after the salvini ate his lips! parrots have "small dog" syndrome, and sometimes they pay for it, you parrot sounds like a monster though. mine was about 3 inches.

This is a picture of the victim.

thats horrible to hear. i must admit that pic above he looks so innocent like "smile and act like you didnt do it" poor frontosa. I have 2 full grown male and female. Never heard of those being able to take down a frontosa or being mean at all. sorry :(

It happened a few weeks back...but i just now figured out how to load pictures.

Sorry for your loss! That sux! Wow, I didn't think it was possible for BP's to get that aggressive. I've always told people they were crazy to think that, I have 4 and they "submit" to all of my fish in the tank, even the dithers.
