Frontosa killed by Parrot Cichlid

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I hadn't raised the front...the lady at the LFS had sold both to me...she gave me credit for the loss of the front.

I really liked that fish.

No confusion, I was just being facetious. I just find it funny that when people say "parrot cichlid" they don't mean the real parrot cichlid. Sad reality of the aquarium hobby.

That is the nature of all common names, I don't trust any of them.

Sucks that you lost that fish but I'm not too awfully suprised. Though blood parrots are deformed they are still created using some pretty aggresive species.

Being it was a new frontosa baby {4 inches is still baby}it was probably already stressed..add the ick problem and it would not take much for the blood parrot to stress the front to death.. fronts in general are kind of fragile in general ..they move slow and so i think it was just a combination of all these factors.. what a sweet front it was.. sorry that you lost him..did every one else recover?

The parrot was the only one that made it.
