nice pictures... i think i need to save up for some zaires to have a colony... how many should i save for? 12.. 15... 20? will be having a 180 gal tank. any idea would be great! :D thank you for sharing photos and info!:grinyes:

I would stock about 10 - 12 if you were planning on getting wild caught adults .A good ratio would be 2 males and 8 females or 2 males and 10 females for a nice colony :headbang2

is it better to get wild caught than tank breed? would it be harder to take care of wild caught since they are sensitive?:screwy:

That would all depend on your budget $ $ $ Depending on where you live you might be able to find a local breeder that has some offspring from wild caught "F1's" which then you might want to stock a few more than 12 this way would save you some monies .I have a wild caught colony of Moba's and they seemed to acclimate just fine into their new home .

I agree. If you go with F1 pick-up more, about 20 or so. As they grow, you can sell the extra males. It's cheaper and you get to raise them. If you are looking to breed them and sell them, I would go with the wild caught.
