Hello people,

I just adopted a FRT around 8 inch or so around a week. It has an upturn shell. I would thinkthat this has been caused by too much protein.
The purpose of this thread is to see how many have been successful in getting the shell to be normal. I am currently feeding it grapes and tomatoes.
Are there any recommendations?

I am also using a planted tank light that i was using for my 90 gallon planted tank. I am not sure whether this light has the full spectrum as mentioned in some articles. Ibelieved the lights are around 300 to 400 watts and 4 feet. The FRT is currently housed in a 110 gallon, 5 feet tank.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

what you mean i cant handle a FRT? i know they can grow very large (around 22"), but that will take quite sometime (and i dont think it will grow that large in captivity) :D As long as I keep the water around 26 - 30 celsius, and make sure its free from any fungai and white spot infection, itd be good.. ^^ Gonna keep it in my tropical fish aquarium (which is around 27-30c) its all good :D

FRT have veggie diet, but I heard stories that they can actually inflict damage to fishes and eats them too =O

Gonna plan to get a 120G + tank to house in my ID shark.. so I think id have the room for a turtle :D if not, the kiddie pool is not that bad, its big thou :D
