FRT's and Rays

Need to mention this. One of those I "consulted" about my decision had 2 motoros in his 300G tank with an FRT, one day he just woke up and his two rays had died.

He concluded that the FRT when the lights were closed were going after the ray's eyes.

Be careful indeed, although my pond has 10' of diameter room for the ray to swim and stay out of the FRT's way, I am keeping a close eye on them.

What are you guys keeping your tank pH at with this mix. I thought the rays liked it a little lower then the FRTs did.

I am hoping to do this mix in about 6 months.

keep the ph at 7 then they should all be happy

i had mine with two motoros.. the FRT is about 11" shell length and the motoros are about 12"-13".. few times i notice my FRT would chase the Motoro's tail.. i think it's because the FRT thinks the tail of the ray is food or something to chase around.. second the ray hates when the FRT is on top of them.. third if you have a Leopoldi or a black ray the FRT's paws claw will scratch the rays skin to a point where the rays skin looks like a human skin that have been scratched by another persons nails..
