Frustratingly slow growers.

So who are your slowest growers that you cant seem to let go of that wont pack on size.

My koloton grows at a snails pace. It has a great appetite and is pretty active but just cant move the needle. Troy1015 mentioned the same experience.

The congicus pictured wasnt much larger than the koloton at one point but now dwarfs him. Teug was much smaller too. I wonder if its species or sex specific trait. Or maybe just a coincidence.

Ive noticed any males ive had grew slower than the females.

Of my polys I'd have to say my smallest ropefish refuses to grow. I've seen adequate growth on all of my UJ's but the rope is just stubbornly small.

But if we expand this from just poly's, I'd have to say my heterospila are by far the slowest growing fish I've ever had. Can't get those guys to grow much. They are growing, just sooo slooowww.

Yeah hets are notoriously slow. I honestly cant tell if mine is a runt or still growing. 4 yrs = 6ish inches

Slowest grower, i think some of my nigerian laps are, i got them 6”-7” now they probably 12”-13”, i cant pin point which one cause i have 8 laps

I find congicus and endli are best growers compared to laps. My grow faster when they eat Hikari. I am not exactly sure what’s in Hikari that boost their growth.

I've had mine about a year and a half. Got them at about 1/4-1/2 an inch and the largest ones are about 4 now. But they've seemed to be this size for a long time.

How many out there have the COMMON CB or WC Nigerian type laps that they grew out from small to 19” plus? Not many. Koliba/koloton most likely follow the same slow growth pattern. I know someone locally who has a 10 year old wc Nigerian lap and still at 19”.

I think laps are just slow growers compared to endli and congi

I noticed better growth when i mixed in pellets too. Straight up tilapia doesnt work well.

Geez i couldnt get cb endli past 12 or 14.
