Fry feeding

Artemia , bloodworms, blackworms, at fry stage I use.

I get my hikari first bites from petco. They come in a small bag. Usually hanging on the shelf around the fish food area.

I smash pellets in a plastic bag or between 2 spoons for some quick fry food.

Water is a non nutrient, and that Tetra product shown above contains 90% water. This is not a quality diet to be fed to fry. The fry might enjoy the flavour, and the texture, but it is very low in nutrient value. Some of the essential vitamins are completely missing from this food. Read the back of the package.

You should be feeding a reasonably high protein (50%), high fat (10%), nutrient rich diet at this stage. Personally I was always a fan of NLS Grow formula when I was actively breeding fish, but any quality pellet, crushed up finely will work.
