New rule, if you don't agree with the price then please just go elsewhere. This place is not ebay so if you want ebay prices then go there.

That is actually an old rule, and part of the buy sell rules. Everyone that has had a post deleted in a buy sell thread should read the rules.

Free bump for awesome inverts.

We love these little guys and have at least one of them...(reds...electric blues...giant blues...red tips...in each tank...most tanks have two. We baught 10 babies on Ebay (electric blues) and lost all but 4 of them...these guys grow faster than you might think and as long as you give them good places to hide can survive with an amazing number of fish. We have a red who tramps around our 6 foot tank all the time in spite of bieng in with a 20" silver aro...and three 14" pbass... Of course they need a grow out tank first but still...

oops sorry for the slight derail but thats a good price on what could be a great addition to a LOT of tanks

Yes hiding places is a MUST. Under rocks, decorations, etc. They will enlarge the hiding place by moving stones around and will also build a wall in front of it. There are many fish that can share a tank with them but mixing them with aggressive fish is a bad idea. I'm not saying all aggressive fish are bad mixers but your still taking a chance. I thought my african cichlids were fine until one day I caught them trying to bite the crayfish now and then. So I just gave them to the pet store to get rid of them. The worst time they can do this is just after a moult. Thats the time when the crayfish's body is like jello and can be very easily harmed. I also found that bichiers don't mix with small crayfish. I had one that I think was around 3" long and make snacks out of a few small crayfish. He got traded in as well.

Heres what I have mixed in with them: 3 silver dollars, 1 mono, 2 scats, 1 big common pleco, 2 smaller pleco (golden nugget and royal), 1 archer, 1 pictus cat, 2 kribs, 2 clown loaches, and a snail or 2. Those work fine with crays except for the clown loaches. I notice the clown's are a little beat up at times. They lounge around a lot so I'm guessing the crays probably take advantage of this and sneak up to them and pinch them. The pleco's also tend to sit around on the bottom but they appear to be unharmed.

Crayfish do grow quick, and there blue color can turn to different shades of blue with each moult. I got adults in my main tank and some are a light blue, some are blue with white spots, some got a few traces of red blended in, and some are a really really dark blue. At times they will be missing a claw or two. Perhaps its from fighting, not sure. But they can grow them back as well as legs when they moult. I got 1 who currently has no big claws so of course theres no way for him/her to pinch me nor defend himself for that matter. So sometimes I reach right in the tank while holding a shrimp pellet and he'll take it from my fingers. Pretty cool.

I used to buy them from a pet store that charged $22/ea! That was before I noticed they were being sold on ebay. So I tried that route. Shipping is very expensive since they have to be shipped overnite but if you order a few then thats where the savings start adding up when compared to pet store prices. The shipment arrived fine but they didn't last long in my tank. Reason being is because they were pretty small and became expensive snacks. Now that I removed the aggressive fish, I would have no problem adding in a 1" crayfish.

out here theyre even more expensive! iv seen em go for 35 bucks a pop!

It's difficult to guess prices...Electric blues go for 20.00 each...giant blues...30.00....red tips if and when you can find one go for 45.00. but the giant reds...1.99 each all day long....Go figure...

$35 wow! Heck $6/ea is a steal then. Which place sells them for that high? The highest place I saw was the pet store in jackson for $22/ea. Buy mine, then turn around and resell them for profit.

Still up for sale. Most of them are now around 1-1/4" counting claws. They getting darker blue as well. Help me get my saltwater tank going by purchasing (or trading for) a few of these.

bump for the good deal, i would really like to have 'em, but i already have to blue crayfishes, however, i don't think mines are aussy though. they are doing realli well in my mixed tank w/13" jar, 5" ntt, 5" JD...etc.
they are very smart for they rarely leave their hiding place too far, they do move around sometimes.
here's one of the guys, the other one just shed was hiding in its cave to recover
