Sorry for late reply, I have had a lot on my plate over the past few weeks hence the absence from posting on here.
To answer your questions yes the female with the slightly crooked tail is doing fine, she did give birth to 3 premature pups a while back but has never become gravid since, the pups were seriously undeveloped, looked like rubber, very pale.
Your right you don't hear of two many breeding's with this species but when it does happen its a real joy.
The fish house is space heated and all the filters are the same, home made built in glass ones which run on air from a turbine blower.
