One comment about keeping turtles and fish: Not every turtle is a specialised fish predator and it is dependent on tank size. In my experience RES and other sliders, cooters, ... are pretty agressive feeders. They will hunt fish down until they die of stress rather than being caught.
I have very good experiences with keeping south american sidenecks with fish. Gibba turtles, amazon toad heads and african helmeted turtles are calm turtles and won't chase fish if they are used to them. I had Geophagus brasiliensis, convicts, JDs, and GTs even spawn and raise fry together with turtles in the tank.
