How do you sex a FRT?

males will have longer tails once they are adults or at least above 12-15 inches.

One comment about keeping turtles and fish: Not every turtle is a specialised fish predator and it is dependent on tank size. In my experience RES and other sliders, cooters, ... are pretty agressive feeders. They will hunt fish down until they die of stress rather than being caught.
I have very good experiences with keeping south american sidenecks with fish. Gibba turtles, amazon toad heads and african helmeted turtles are calm turtles and won't chase fish if they are used to them. I had Geophagus brasiliensis, convicts, JDs, and GTs even spawn and raise fry together with turtles in the tank.

How long would the males tail be at 15" compared to a females?

fully aquatic?... but mostly aquatic softshells, pink belly snapper (not actually a NA snapper) pink belly side neck, stink pot, razor musk, snappers... if you want to keep the aquarium full with water just make a DIY turtle topper over one of the tanks openings. I have "mostly aquatic" turtles and built a topper so they can do their business.... cause i keep them with monster fish...it can be done just research.
