Fungus? Or normal for fast growing?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
okay good example and sorry i couldnt help.

Methlyne Blue DIP at 50-70ppm @ 15-20 seconds. Not harsh on the fish & should help clear things up. Rinse fish with clean water after the dip as you don't want meth blue in your tank. If possible put dipped fish in a cycled quarantine tank as netting by itself is stressful. You need to make a large water change in your main tank and continue to keep water params normal & crystal clear. If things do not get better, then other options are available.

White bloches on my bichir. Look almost like an infection or fungus but also like a discoloration.
Thanks

do you have plecos in your tank? i thought i had a problem similar to yours turns out the plecos were sucking the slime coat off of the bichirs. get rid of plecos and the disclouration disappears

Yeah I do have 2 pleco....
It's possible I've seen him suck on my TT.
I'll keep an eye out but if that's not it.
What could the other long term afects be?

bro, if you've seen the plecos suck on another fish already, take the plecos out! or vice versa. If you've seen a pleco suck on a fish, believe me, it's much worse when the lights are out. The pleco has had a taste of the slime coat, it has no reason to stop. my 2cents. Eliminate the variables you are sure of, then go from there. Don't do the whole, "what if it's not that". You will not know till you fix it.
