Some people have been doing posts like this in Portland too. Cracks me up....! I like the final confession at the end. "Yeah, it's me sucka! I flagged your add!!!!"

True that, I saw someone break it down to help people once, gave listings of what tanks are worth, I hate seeing 10-30 gallons fo $40 and up, you can get a kit from walmart for that much lol. Because 55's are so popular they're a decent price here because of the competition but once you get larger than that they skyrocket. I want a 110+ tank but the cheapest I've seen is $200 (not bad but thats the cheapest) for the tank alone and after that I wouldnt have money for a filter lol.

I'm also trying to find a larger tank in my area... cheapest is 125 Gallon for $350, largest tank is 180 Gallons for $800:WHOA:

Asking an unrealistic price for an item is not a "scam". Flagging ads just because you think they are overpriced is an abuse of the system. Tons of craigslist posts with overpriced aquarium crap are annoying, I agree. But so are posts complaining about posts with overpriced aquarium crap. They'll figure it out themselves when they get no responses.

I totally agree with the OP. In central NY the craigslist ads are crazy. First you barely ever see any tanks over 75 gallons, and if you do people are trying to sell 180 gallon setups for $1,000+++

Seriously there have been a couple people trying to sell 180 gallon saltwater setups for $5,000. and it just drives me crazy.

Seriously, the guy's obviously an idiot, and with a pretty pathetic grasp of the English language (with the nerve to call anyone else "dumb" lol). The CL poster, not the OP that is. If you don't like the price on a CL ad you see, move on. Too many people with a too-large sense of entitlement and too much time on their hands. Dollar a gallon, lol, he wishes. Maybe for something like a 55G on down, but nobody's selling 100G+ complete setups at $1/gallon, and if they are they're a fool. Tank maybe, but complete? If you're lucky maybe, but it's a good deal, not the norm or some "rule".

Why is that crazy? If you want a 180G you can buy the used one you found on CL or a new one from the LFS for god knows how much. Supply and demand...what's crazy is selling a setup to a stranger for less than you can get. Would you, if you were selling?

Again, entitlement, and wanting something for nothing...

That is too funny, i wish someone would post that up here on the Seattle CL, i see some crazy prices everyday on there..

Lol I have seen some rediculous prices for used tanks here in illinois also seen a 55 gallon tank that was cracked and they wanted 90 for it and it was the tank alone .... some people sometimes think they have something really special when its really junk ....
