HA! Nice try buddy. I aint falling for that one again. Everyone goes snipe hunting once. Unless you're an idiot and go twice. Or you're like me and go three times.
rodney carrington  good stuff:D

This is actually from a LFS WORKER that i over heard...

Customer: What benefit would my tank have with an air pump? Does it aerate the water?
Worker: Well its upto you...if you want bubbles...it just creates bubbles..yeh..

True story.

Thats what I baically said lol. I looked at her and went "are you ****ting me?" Usually I am okay with stupid/ignorant customers, but this one was waaaaay over the top!! I was ticked off the whole day!

One guy throw a fit because I would not replace his 1.00 neon tetra. When i said, sir, a pH of 4 and a ton of Ammonia present is no good for them, he told me "i am a scientist and i know what i am doing!" - Riiiight, i asked him what pH stood for and he couldn't anwser me!

he threw a fit at my manager, then the assistant manager, then the store manager, we ended up almost having to call to have him removed!!!!

There are way to many stupid people out there.

What kind of scientist? Definitely one that doesn't have to do with anything chemical. Also, not a rocket scientist. Maybe the tank didn't look clean so he pulled out some ammonia to clean the sides.

OK everyone has to have heard this story. I hear it everywhere I go from fish store employees. "Can I get that fish?" What size tank do you have? "well don't fish grow to the size of the aquarium???"

heard it yesterday. "i have a little turtle" "well what size tank do you have?" "i don't have one" (tries to point out a 40 breeder) "well what about that one?" (points to a 10 gallon) "don't they grow to the size of the tank?" "NO! that's the biggest lie known to man!" :D

I think the dumbest question I asked was, "What do you know about rare plecos?" to someone that I find to have the highest psi rate of B.S. of anyone I know. WyldFya knows who I'm talking about. We're always making fun of the arrogant . . . burro.

I think ignorant customers are 90% of the time just misinformed. I have never worked at a LFS, but always try to make a point to educate customers who I have noticed have been misinformed. There are always those "know-it-alls" out there who won't listen to advice, but I think that most people (especially when confronted by a fellow customer, not an employee who might be in it to make a sale) are pretty receptive to the info.

I would agree. The person that Fabio's Dad is talking about will spout off info like he knows everything, but is just full of bs. He told a couple that they would be able to house 4 Red belly pacus for life in a... dramatic pause... 20 gallon long. He informed me once that L200 Green phantoms (Hemiancistrus subvirdis), was the same as L007/L029 Galaxy pleco (Leporacanthicus Galaxias). Which when I told them they were two different species that looked kinda similar in the respect that they were both spotted. He said I was wrong that galaxy plecos, or as he called them Vampire plecos, did not have any spots. So it isn't always the customer that is wrong, sometimes they are just misinformed. Keep in mind Walmart does sell fish, and well I don't think there are any prerequisites to work the pet area there.

I think one of the funniest that I have heard was a teenager wanting to get rid of his piranha. The reason, it stared at him all night and he thought it was going to jump out of the tank and eat him.
