Quarantine Tank
Got something new today ;) and a couple of days ago I wanted to test my water just in case. I dont own a test kit, never have and never will. I think if you keep up on water changes they are not really needed. :D Anyways back to the story. So I walk in to give the lady my water sample. After walking around waiting for the results I walk back to the counter and ask her, "Hows my water?" She gives me a puzzled look and asks, "Do you even have fish in the tank? Your water is so clean?" I begin to chuckle and said yes! I told her my tank stock and she simply smiled and told me my readings and that everything was great!

Funny how the most simple thing can make ones day...lol

Either that or im crazy:screwy:

well you are crazy.... but im the same way.... i know my water is good ive bought test kits and never used them when i find them i usually throw them out...

Sweet! Now I know I'm not the only one who has a test kit collecting dust. I don't feel guilty any more:D

ha! i agree on the whole test kit thing. i bought one just to know what my parameters were during cycling. after that, havent tested my water since. if you got enough bio filtration and keep up on the WC's, theres no need to test the water

i cycled my 90 with no kit.... saw bubbles in the sump when amonia got high then 2 weeks later added fish.... not one death or problem....

When I cycle I just bring the water into the LFS. Thou since Ive always got a tank running I usually just fast cycle with established media, old water, and a feeder or two.

no tests...lol

funny how context can make a big difference in how you sound :D

but what about cycling a tank?

I own numerous test kits, although I don't worry about the nitrogen much at all. I have to worry about all my other parameters.
