  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i have an ac110 double sponge on a 40b and ac70 pure bio and its pretty darn perfect.

IF YOU GOT IT THIS IS A GREAT SETUP....... ,I have just pen350 on a 40b with dempsey and raphael ...ITS plenty...

Ive been running a quiet one 14000 on a 180gallon with about 2500gph flow for my two fullsize oscars and two 12" peacock bass for over six months peacocks were 6 and 8 inches respectively no problem from current stress yet....

Well, you can always crank down the flow on an FX5 with those orange valves on top of the canister... So the "too much flow argument" is basically irrelevant.

absolutly correct ....but on a 40b there are plenty of less expensive options that are just as effective ....:)

Agree. But if you plan on upgrading tank size down the line, you could already have a seeded FX5 ready to go. That's really the only reason it would make sense.
I see a lot of posts lately about really really extreme filtration systems, and I just wonder if you have to go to such lengths to keep your tank stable, maybe it's time to get a bigger tank or get rid of some fish. But I know some guys love the JDM tanks. :)
