Monoculus ;)
I hadn't cleaned my filter in about 3 weeks. Wanted to make sure i had plenty of bacteria because i was moving my tank to a new location

After a week of having the tank setup @ the new location I decided to clean the filter because the pads were packed with sand, and crap.

Now before cleaning the filter i was getting NO AIR BUBBLES. Ever since cleaning the filter I'm blowing more air bubbles then ive ever seen, lol.

I'm thinking I might need to pull the impeller out and clean it. at least i hope thats the issue.

*sigh*

damn this fx5

FX5 is a great filter. mine's been running for almost two years with no issues at all. most of the problems are user error ;)

Your intake is near an airstone......

+1

make sure all ur seals are seated right after u cleaned it!!

yeah i have 2 of them and they work great... i wonder if it has to do with the sand getting into it? i hate sand...with a passion...it will tear a filter up in no time.

I don't see a problem there. You probably just got a lot of air trapped into the padding when ringing them out, and the filter is slowly getting it out.. It's not like it pushes all the air out at once, it takes a bit.

That or the intake has a small air leak or hes sucking in air somehow.:nilly: The FX5 is still a great filter .... lol

Sounds like an air leak to me also, probably on the intake tube, depending on where it is it will suck in air but not leak any water at all.
