Thats what happens to me everything tends to go down the tubes after the 2nd, 3rd or the 4th cleaning of the canister filters from my experience- I have gone through Fluval 404, Eheim Pro II 2028, 2nd Eheim Pro 2028, and some cheap Jemcho forgot the spelling its long gone.... every one of them failed on me within 5-10 months and I just long given up on those and gone back to trusty ol HOB system or gone simpler to sponge filteration or no filteration at all depending on the tank itself its always one thing or another....

i love the fx 5 and the eheim 2028.. i make love to both, on a regular basis and they serve me well.

Doesn't that Eheim get jealous ? I hear German women get jealous easy. I know mine is upset with me sitting in the garage dead currently due to a 4 dollar tap valve

yeah i have 2 of them and they work great... i wonder if it has to do with the sand getting into it? i hate sand...with a passion...it will tear a filter up in no time.

Depends on the sand.

Seems you may be doing something wrong. I use 4 cannisters and they work great for me. Been using them for years and haven't had one go out on me yet.

My FX 5 runs superbly. i have only had it for about a month and a half. this is my first cannister filter. i like it! It's a well-designed product that exceeds most people's expectations. Buy it and try it.
