Hello I have an fx5 on a 135 gallon that doesn't seem to have a good flow rate. It is only about three years old . Why isn't it pushing the water as much as I want it too ? Will someone help me with this .Thank you.

I have ceramic rings and scrubbies in the baskets. No pre filter sponge on the intake for I was worried it would reduce the water flow some how. No carbon or any of that just scrubbies and a few ceramic rings .
I am really puzzled why its not blasting out that water like it used too. I have pulled it all apart cleaned the impeller and put it all back together again. No air seems to be coming into the canister either .
Check your tubes and impeller. Make sure no junk is in it or on it

ive had the filter sponges for about 8 months and it was just cleaned last week. Could old sponges cause the flow rate to be reduced ?
I will pull it apart again today. As much as I don't like too because it is a pain. I will try again .
Try running without the sponges and see what you think. Mine is about 5 yo w original sponges and runs fine. Did you use aftermarket sponges? Maybe they are smaller pores?

the sponges are not after market . It doesn't seem to be plugged up. maybe the hoses need a good spraying. I hope that's what it all is. Otherwise the impeller quit on me .ugh I hope not .. back to fiddling around .
