I just noticed that my FX5 lost its ability to turn water. To those who owns an FX5, you know how the output spray bar output is. It should literally be spraying water in an arc if the spray bar is above the water line. Well my spray bar "flows" water instead of "spraying" it. I would say I'd be lucky to have a turnover of 60 gph. I cleaned the canister, the impeller, and checked the hoses to make sure nothing is blocking it. The output is still the same.

What do you guys suggest I do? The filter is fairly new, about 4 months old. I am the second owner.

Thanks!

I had to take out some media from both of mine,i check mine by pouring say a litre in it without the lid on and see how quickly the water sinks through the media,if it takes ages then remove some, but im sure someone will be along soon and sort your problem for ya.

cheers steve

The filter is full of ceramic rings. This is my second FX5 full of ceramic rings. My first FX5 worked well for 2 years before I sold it. I understand that the media will decrease the turnover of the filter but for it to decrease its output to 1/8 of its output volume from yesterday noon baffles me.

check the impeller

Did that and cleaned it too according to the manual's instructions.

Air in the system?
Lid loose or overtight?

I doubt it. Its hand tightened and FX5 expels air once a day.

I know ive got two,but if you overtighten it can be a problem,as i was told when i had a similar problem.
