Hagen Bio max, Azoo Bio glass, Eheim ehfisubstrat(pro), Seachem matrix(pond) are all quality bio media.

"The Best" is subjective and opinionated. I'm happy with the Bio-Max.

I agree with "the best" being super subjective. I personally use a mix of substrat pro and matrix :headbang2

save yourself some cash and use plastic pot scrubbers
im pretty sure theres a guy on here that sells them

Alot of people say those things are a waste in your fx5.

Not a good idea. I highly recommend bio-max, personally. It's worth every penny.
