In My Skin !!!
I'm setting up a 150 gallon (72"x18"x29") this weekend. I recently purchased a FX5 to run with this tank. Is this enough filtration? Should I use something else (more filtration) in addition to the FX5??? Below in the stock list I plan on doing...

2 Oscars
2 Pike Cichlids
1 Jack Dempsy
... and possibly a few other like fish.

Thanks in advance.

you should be good on filtration, just fill that fx5 with biomax. but you could always add a ac110 to be on the safe side just in case a filter is to go down.

I've been out of the hobby for a few years so, I'm not sure what that is...

Biomax... are those bioballs?
AC110... ???

Any other advise?

Biomax is biomedia (Fluval Biomax is pretty good), and AC110 is an aquaclear 110 hang on the back filter which is very popular nowadays. I agree with Joey47 the FX5 with an ac110 would be enough.

You should be fine, but if you start stocking your tank heavily you might want to add more filters.. But like said above fill your FX5 with BioMax and you'll be good, i have both of mine loaded with it.

Yep what they ^^^ said.

Thanks for the advise. One last thing...

You guys said load it up with Biomax. Just load up the center baskets? Or, do you guys remove the foam and load that area with the biomax media as well? Hope to hear something soon. I want to head to the LFS ASAP.

Thanks guys
