I have an fx5 that I just changed out the filter to and plugged it back in and it's not making no sound at all . I've tried multiple things on the same outlet and they work so it's not the filter. Has anyone had this problem that knows how to fix it, the quickest replies would help, thanks.

This is why I won't get another FX. Most likely a piece of grit is jamming the impeller. I will only use cannisters with the pump on top. The equivalent is an Eheim 2262 / 2260. The smaller Fluvals are great filters.

The Impeller is inside the motor on the bottom of the canister filter. You need to remove 4 screws in order to access the magnetic impeller. Once you have access to it, clean up all the gunk inside the spinning area and apply silicone grease. My advice is to clean the impeller at least once every 3 months (you can go 6 months if you'd like) just to be on the safe side that the impeller won't get jammed.
