Fx6 flow problem

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks everyone
Yeah I’ve got all the middle trays full of eheim substrat pro and did notice a couple of pieces in the bottom when I cleaned it out! Could’ve missed a few and got stuck in pump! And yeah the sand could be a problem too!
Thanks for your help

Sorry only just seen this reply 🤦🏻‍♂️ on the video on YouTube ( think it’s kaveman aquatics) he just shuts off the inlet and then turns off the power opens up the inlet again and the air comes out then turns power back on and the air is released! Hope this makes sense 👍🏻
FX's auto purge air. You don't even need to jump through those hoops. If air is getting into the system or the motor impeller is clogged, those are issues that need to be trouble-shot and corrected.

A quick question Shane templar Shane templar , are the input and output normally above the water line in that pic you posted? If they are, you may be drawing air in through the intake connection to the nozzles.

Yeah that’s what I was worried about first of all was where is the air coming from plus there is no leaks whatsoever! I’m guessing it’s the media got inside the pump

Check the o-rings on the top lid. May have pinched that or the o-rings on valves when you dismantled it. I would an o-rings kit on Amazon and install all new o-rings and use a rubber safe lube/grease.

Hi everyone so I cleaned all the pump out and the flow is still rubbish and there’s still air in the filter double checked all the connections and they’re fine. Really can’t think of how air is getting in there when everything is submerged 🤦🏻‍♂🤷🏻‍♂️

As I've mentioned in the post previous to this purchase an o-ring kit off of Amazon and just replace all the o-rings and thoroughly lubed them.

Any chance you have any dips or sagging in either the output or input hoses from the FX6 filter to the tank Shane templar Shane templar ?
