Fx6 vs used 2262

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Eheim is the definition of silent....definitely.
if you can pony up just a little more $$ get a new 2262 and wait for the amazing results....
I just spoke to my friend Randy and he has recently been told the Eheim customer service issue is being addressed.....just fyi.

I just found one on big als for $380. Sound good to you?

Now I just gotta buy all the media. It's
gonna be crazy expensive!

Nvm it's out of stock. I really need a filter to help out my marineland c360 and fluval 305. Kinda scared that the fx6 won't live up to my expectations though.

Really? I have been trying to get a silicon gasket for my 2250 for ever now...the part I did manage to get on line was a weird ribbed squarish rubber gasket....it fit and sorta works but it isn't the same orange silicon one I wanted.....Do you recommend a link?
Sorry OP for the derail.....my bad.
7276650 is part number if the lid gasket is the one you need. You can order on Amazon.

That's where the used one may be a good deal, depending on what media it comes with. I think I paid around $400 for mine new from Amazon. Pretty sure I have at least another $100 inside it. If you weren't planning to use the media that comes with the used one, I'd spend the extra $50 and buy new.

The used filter comes with 10 litres of substrat pro, but I would still need to spend $80 on poret.

I love Poret....so much you can do with it...
Just a suggestion. ....and this may or may not make sense.....

I took all the filter pads and mechanical media out of my 2250 about two years ago....and, just run bio....about 4gallons worth. The filter is cleaned every 12-18 months and I have never seen it clogged. My water polishing is achieved by other filters dedicated to just that purpose and it has simplified my maintenance regimen.
I have seen people daisy chain these filters with major awesomeness....the point being, they are very versatile.
