Hoping someone has experienced this same issue. Did a filter clean tonight and both of the valves (in,out) have developed a leak. The in valve is fairly bad. The filter is only 3 years old or so. Is the purchase of new valves the only viable solution?
Obviously I had to disconnect the FX6. I have two other Eheim filters that are about 10 years old and never had an issue on the same tank. Should I just expect that the valves on the FX only last a few years and replace?

Firstly I would replace the o-rings on the top of the unit that the valves slide onto. If I remember right two on each side. If that doesn't fix it then get the valves. I only ran FX4s for two years and the valves were fine still when I sold them, so I don't know typically how long they last.

The leak isn’t coming from where the line joins the actual unit. It is coming from around the red circular on off portion.

Well then your hosed... pun intended. Ya looks like you need to replace them.

This is why I switched to AC110'S, no parts that can break during routine maintenance. And also comparatively ease of maintenance.

Deeda. Appreciate the link to that thread. I popped the valve open and lubed the rings up. Unfortunately it leaked worse after putting it back together. I ordered new valves but I am not happy with Fluval.

Unbelievable. I ordered new valves off of Amazon. Pleasantly surprised that they were delivered today until I opened it and there was only one valve. Apparently two pieces in the ad means two O rings not two valves. At $30 bucks what a flipping rip off. Fluval is definitely falling out of favor with me. Especially reading their reviews on these valves and two years seem to be the life.
