I forgot if I asked this before or not but anyways, what else is compatible with my gachua? I have a 50gal tank measuring 48 inches long, 12.5 inches wide, and 17-19 inches tall. Any recommendations for tankmates?

If your in the D.C. area I have some ctenopoma (leaf fish) that I need to sell.
Their a good tankmate for G's

They are one of the smallest species of Snakeheads BUT! These fish are still territorial and aggressive. I have kept them with Cichlids in the past but you have to be careful 1 the Cichlids Can eat them 2 the Cichlids are not fragile as they still like to nip lumps out of them so in the end he was with a gar and he still nipped a lump out of the Gars tail.

Well it depends on who's your priority or you dont care who's gonna float one day, snakeheads are teritorial but I guess your specie are not that much,so maybe try to combine them with fish of the same size like clown knife fish, bichirs, flagtails, plecos, redtail cats,chaca-chaca,hara-hara,shovelnose cats,or other large catfishes,pacu,iridescentsharks,....all same sized fish that has no sharp teeth

and if you dont care who's gonna float one day maybe try to combine it with oscars, peacock bass, jaguars, and other large cichlids

or if you want a war add some red devil, green terror, piranhas, wolffish, micropeltes,

actually theres alot you can add it only depend on your decision hehehehe

I guess your 50 gallons wouldn't be enough if your plannin to add some species

What sort of advice is that to give?????????
Yeah ok lets put some 3' catfish with a 6" gachau in a 50.
Any of those catfish at even a foot long and its bye bye snakehead.

Ok well since we cant get snakeheads here so i dont have much personel experience but if the tank is mainly for the snakehead and you dont want any chance of him getting hurt ide just use some smallish schooling fish to liven it up abit.
Or get SMALL bichir species like senegal or SMALL catfish species like ornate pictus or something if you want something more exciting.

I'm with chrisdef15, don't mix gachua with large predatory fish, like gars and p bass.

You can mix G's with other small fish that they can't fit in their mounths and vise versa.

I've had good luck with:

clown loaches
fire eels
ctenopoma
p.delhezi and other small bichirs

If you have a pair just keep them alone.

I hear fire eels are aggressive? They both get along ok?

Also what other small bichirs are out there that are small? I dont know they had a size difference. Keep in mind the width of my tank is 12.5 inches, I want to keep my fish happy and able to turn 180 degrees. =D

I think you didn't read my post well, i said put a specie of the "SAME SIZE"...Its common sense can a 3 feet catfish fit a 50 gallon aquarium?
