How about a turtle. Then you make some soup.

i think u'd get attatched to the fish u were goin to eat.

Pacu or Tilapia zilla, they grow fast and are food fish. Use a big tank, good feed, and do lots of water changes.

I keep waiting for CentralMayhem to weigh in on this topic.

Yah, where has he been? Not to mention he has the recipes.

I don't know if I could get myself to eat a pet fish that I fed and raised. Wouldnt it be easier, cheaper and quicker to just go to the store?

You would think.

I second the pacu idea, they grow very fast and really are not suited for aquaria life. By growing it as large as you can and than eating it you would actually be doing it a favor.

yeah i dont think i could eat a fish that i rasied from a baby...

alot of the chemicals that we use in our tanks say clearly that they are for fish that aren't to be consumed. What is the deal with that? i dont eat fish anyways, but it seems to me that it cant be healthy.

Well if you intend on eating the fish, don't use the chemicals. Seems simple. Besides that, I would trust a home grown ifsh over a wild caught or farmed one.
