are crickets a good option for gars that are still eating live? i tried giving him a meal worm but it sank too quickly. just trying to vary its diet
I have done some research on this and what I have found out is that a lot of people use Hikari floating food sticks and jumbo carnisticks (based on size of gar) or NLS extra large floating pellets. NLS has better nutrient density and uses higher quality ingredients (whole fish and krill instead of just meal) but it is harder to get them to switch to NLS because the pellet isn't as soft. What pellets do you all feed your gars?
I just realized that his tank is probably a little bit too big, but I don't have a smaller tank thats open right now. I'm breeding tilapia in my 20g to be feeders for him in a few months. To counter the larger size of his tank, can I just keep a really high stock of feeders with him so that there are more for him to catch?
