I've never kept Florida gars, but the alligator gar we had didn't even need to eat the whole fish... it'd just bite off what it wanted...so yeah it could be a concern.

I beg to differ, 7" gators will eat 2.5" whole. Gators Rock! LOL

FL will sooner or later try his luck, but considering the growth rate for both, you will not be able to comm them for long also.

my florida gar used to leave the smaller and bigger bichirs to themselves.

could be because the banjar red aro was the alpha fish in the tank
