garbage found saltwater fish tank with everything..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
let me know if you have any questions on setting that tank up, what do you have in mind, fowlr, reef, etc? you need a quality skimmer.

thanks clekchau. ur saltwater tank is crazy.. i will def be asking lots of question. thanks buddy..

im not gonna go crazy. jus somthing basic and simple. mainly wanna get colorful community fish.. some rocks and thats it. was checking out youtube so that should help me on setting it up. here is my plan. im going to use the 55 i found for fresh. after cleaning the salt out how long will i have to wait to transform into fresh. then i will turn my 75 into salt. im going to bring the sump to my lfs to see if they know anything about it and see if they can help me put it together and direct me on how to use it.. i will keep everyone updated once i have clean it and set up everything in the right place before adding any fish for sure...

ok heres an update. i went to my LFS with the amiracle sump and they told me most pieces are there. missing a black tray, pump, and some holes to connect them. doesnt seem too bad. but then after we empty everything out. he notice the bottom of the sump has a big crack. he said its fixable so im going to try to seal it and see if it works.. so i ask them a bunch of saltwater question and it came down to wuts best and easy for me and my future saltwater fish... they told me if im only going to keep FISH and put some fake rocks in it. that would be very easy and only need a UV sterilizer and everything else is like freshwater but add salt.. is this true? if it is. this is wut i will be using and my setup.. btw this will be the cheapest way since i already have most of the stuff.. i will be fixing the sump and customize it for my freshwater tank..

here is wut im thinking..
" 75g tank, new light bulb for saltwater, 300w heater, 75g hang on filter, fluval 405 canister filter, uv sterilizer, powerhead, fake rocks, maybe sand, black background, lots of community fish..

any advice will be great thanks. i dont wanna do anyhting wrong and kill my future fish.

So i came home tonight and notice a fish tank 2 house down from mine outside in the garbage. i went and check it out and theres was a 55-60g tank, stand, heater, lid , light, sump/overflow type filter built into the stand, and some other random stuff. "CRAZY" theres lots of salt like substance in the tank so im pretty sure it was a saltwater tank. im planing to clean it up and take some pics soo u guys can help me make use of this tank. i wanna make a saltwater tank since i already have 2 fresh but ive never have and have no idea how to set it up or work.. the filter will be the main problem since ive never used that type of filter before. any input will be great. thanks in advance for helping out.. thanks..
well, what do you say, rich people! some rich people even throw out car(pretty new and still good) for free after their kids done with high school!

i have decided to go with just fish saltwater setup.. saw some on youtube and seems much easier and low cost. some of the fake rocks look amazing. any advice on it will be great. the petco around me have some nice saltwater stock.

for a 75, a picasso trigger and snowflake eel would be cool, hardy and relatively inexpensive, will survive any mistakes you might make. could even throw in a bright blue damsel for color :D

no offense but that pet shop is giving you bad advice, in my opinion the secret to a successful fowlr is live rock and a good skimmer. i have a uv cause it came with the tank, it seems to help i guess. also live rock makes it look much more natural, especially when it starts to grow coralline algae. wet drys are nitrate factories for saltwater tanks i guess some people still use them. browse youtube, most of the nice fowlrs have live rock.

im going to go with more color then big lol.. community/semi aggressive will be my goal. nothing that can eat other fishes. i already have a fresh monsters that does that which is expensive cuz i would put new fish in and next day its gone lol.. so im going to aim for small and colorfull and fun....
