Do it!

Remind her that this is only the third (?) time that they've been imported to the U.S. in recent times and that such an opportunity may not arise for quite some time. :naughty:

not to sway someone in one direction or another ;), but yeah, this is more or less correct. will PM with further details hopefully later tonight--

ok finally wrapping up on writing a gar presentation and i have to be up in two hours...that being said, i thought i would add a quick shot from the last time the CBGs were measured, which was 4.6.2011.

they are at the bottom of a 5-gallon bucket if that helps with the perspective. hopefully more pics coming as the study wraps up!--

here's an updated video taken just today (wednesday) - pardon all the fish crap...this was a quick clip before i went through and cleaned up the tanks a bit (filters are pretty noisy too). you can get an idea of size as the 20gL tanks are 12.5" wide.

we will hopefully be doing the final measurements this weekend and then concentrating on the second part of the study...

...you can check out the preview here:

Pretty cool stuff, Solomon. They all seem very content in the 20 longs despite being nearly as long as the aquariums are wide.

thanks! yeah, they are definitely filling out the tanks...that is another reason why i am cutting the study short of two months (will be more like 7 weeks) as i don't want to keep them all cooped up in too small of tanks. at the same time, bumping them all to bigger tanks and continuing would add another variable to the current simple study.

as soon as i figure out all the details, these guys will all be combined in a bigger recirculating system or indoor pond setup. their feeding will be reduced from ad libitum to more maintenance/"standard" growth levels so we can use them later down the line.

Richard will be coming over on Saturday so i am hoping to get him to help out with the final measurements :) --

I'm guessing that they grew a bit faster than you expected? They definitely appear to be much larger than they were in that picture from a bit over a week ago.

Are you going to put them on pellets when you move them to a larger aquarium since they were on pellets to start at the farm?

Wow! Very nice Cubans! :)
