Garter Snake Problem

I have a ton of garter snakes living under a cement slab on the side of my house where my air conditioning unit is at. How do I trap these snakes to release them some place else. I don't want to kill them so is there any kind of snake trap I could set?

There's an all natural snake repellant called Snake Stopper, made by Bonide.
http://www.bonide.com/products/product.php?category_id=8752&sku=8752
It wont harm the snakes, or other pets, or even your landscaping. Pretty sure the Gov uses it on imported crates to check for illegal snakes

I would take a few big Rubbermaid containers and cut a circle in it's side. Put an inverted funnel in it that the snakes could barely fit into. Put a few inches of water in the container and throw in a few dozen goldfish or guppies. Check it every day and hopefully you have snakes. The idea is that they go in the funnel. Eat a fish or two then are two fat to get back out. My grandpa used to use them to catch garters to feed to his kingsnake and made one with granola bars as bait to catch rats and mice for his rattlers and gopher snakes before he could find have-a-heart traps.

With garter snake you mean Thamnophis? What problems do they cause?

Just pick the snakes up and put them in a burlap bag. They don't bite that hard.

Better wear rubber gloves - the musk they produce is very hard to wash off and stinks terribly.
